Welcome! You have been invited to follow this blog by either a student or leader of Salem First Baptist's Student Ministries. We are so glad you are here! It has been on our heart to have God move through our students in a big way, and we know that the main way to get that done is by having a body of believers praying for us constantly. Our goal with this blog is to keep you informed and up-to-date on prayer requests we have within our ministry, whether they be from an individual student or from the group as a whole. We want to thank you for your willingness to pray for us and the work God is already doing within the lives of our students.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students
This last week we talked about forgiveness. A lot of our students have been hurt or wronged by someone close to them, whether it be a parent leaving, a friend talking behind their back, rumors spread, some type of abuse etc... They have seen the effects of sin in this world, and feel the burden of that in their hearts.

Pray that our students know the value of forgiveness.  That they would let God soften their hearts towards those who have hurt them, and imitate Christ and forgive. That they would allow Christ to release those burdens. That God would begin to heal those past hurts in their lives.

For Our Ministry

Pray that our ministry would be saturated in prayer, that more would see the need for prayer in our students lives. Pray for those who have yet to subscribe to this blog. Pray that we would trust God and feel His movement through our ministry.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:

- Pray for me as I prepare to give my testimony at Thrive this week.
- I pray for peace and strength, that God would heal my heart and my mind. For understanding and wisdom.
- Better relationship with my dad. Perseverance, discipline, and courage. Grow into a man after God’s own heart.
- Financial stability. Family stability. Patience with my family.
-  for my friends to come to Thrive.

STUDENTS IN OUR MINISTRY:
Please take a moment to pray for these students individually. Pray over their week, family life, friendships, and character.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students
It's January - which means a lot of things if you are a student. Coming back from Christmas break, dreading finals, getting back into the swing of things, sports, lots of work, etc... A theme that runs rampant through our students prayer requests is summed up in one word: STRESS. Our students have a lot of things they are trying to balance, and usually a lot of pressure to do well and achieve much.

Pray for the stress in our students lives. That they would feel God's peace around them. That the stress in their lives would not lead to anger and frustration. Pray people enter their lives that will bring them encouragement.

For Our Ministry

Pray that our ministry will see a revival - that God would increase our faith and dependence on Him. That He would continue to grow the number of those we reach. That students would continue to see our ministry as a place to bring their friends to learn about Jesus.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:

- Pray that my mom and me can get along and not be so stubborn towards each other. Also pray that I could end my self-harming addiction.
- I would ask for prayer for my father’s health. He is aging and slowing down. Pray that he knows his limits physically. Pray for a sense of peace in a household full of stress and tension.
- I’ve been rather stressed this last month. Please pray that God will put my heart at peace.
- To be strong in faith and have the strength to share that faith with people. That God will show me what path to follow in my life.
- Stress at work and home. Insecurities. Parent problems to be resolved.

STUDENTS IN OUR MINISTRY:
Please take a moment to pray for these students individually. Pray over their week, family life, friendships, and character.
