Welcome! You have been invited to follow this blog by either a student or leader of Salem First Baptist's Student Ministries. We are so glad you are here! It has been on our heart to have God move through our students in a big way, and we know that the main way to get that done is by having a body of believers praying for us constantly. Our goal with this blog is to keep you informed and up-to-date on prayer requests we have within our ministry, whether they be from an individual student or from the group as a whole. We want to thank you for your willingness to pray for us and the work God is already doing within the lives of our students.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students

This week we started a new series call "Squad" which focuses on friendship. We took a look into the lives and friendship of Jonathon and David. Pray that our students would be sensitive to God's leading in their lives regarding friendships. Pray that He will strengthen those friendships that need to be strengthened. Pray also for the new 6th graders and freshman who have just joined our groups, that they would feel at home and welcome in their new youth groups.

For Our Ministry
Please continue to pray for our Dominican Republic Team! They still have a couple more days in the DR. Pray for health, safety, unity, and that God would do mighty things in them and through them!

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
 – For my words to be God’s. For me to have lots of good conversations.
– Pray that I will be able to find out who I really am.
- Pray that I would have a selfless attitude and that I would think of others before myself.
- Pray for strength and encouragement to be a man of God

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students

This week we ended our series "Ask It" and we focused on making decisions. Our students were challenged to open their hands to God and choose Him for themselves, making their faith their own. Pray that as they wrestle with this decision, God would guide them. Pray that they seek out wisdom. Pray that as they continue to ask this question: In light of my past experience, current circumstances, and future hopes and dreams, what’s the wise thing for me to do? They will continue to surrender themselves to the Author of wisdom will determine what they will actually do.

For Our Ministry
Tomorrow Pastor Brian, Debbie Smith and a team of 7 students are headed to the Dominican Republic! Please pray for them as them - pray for safety, health, that all their luggage meets them there, that God will go before them and prepare the hearts of the kids who they will be reaching through VBS, and pray for unity for the team. Pray that their relationships with the Lord will grow and be challenged and that God will reveal Himself to them in mighty ways. They will be gone June 18th-28th!

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- Help with my words. Help with sin and attitude.
- Growing more in Christ. Things with my mom continue to go well. Relationships continue to have God first so it can work out well.
- I would like to pray for a better relationship with God and live my life for God.
- I feel like I know of Jesus, but I don’t know Him.

STUDENTS IN OUR MINISTRY:
Please take a moment to pray for these students individually. Pray over their week, family life, friendships, and character.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students

This last week we focused on "harmless distractions". Pray as our students go in to the summer, they will be making small investments in their walk with the Lord. Pray against distractions. Pray for them, that if there are things in their life they need to say no to, they would have the strength and courage to do so. Pray for health habits to be made and kept this summer, that as they have more free time, they would start making consistent "deposits" of time into things that matter.

For Our Ministry
Pray that student-leader relationships would grow as they do life together to mature in and for the glory of Christ.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- I pray that some friends of my family would find God's peace.
- Graduation, moving out, going to college

- Temptation. Confidence in sharing the Gospel.
- That I can use my summer to serve God.
- Pray that I can stay dedicated to my goals and not be discouraged.

STUDENTS IN OUR MINISTRY:
Please take a moment to pray for these students individually. Pray over their week, family life, friendships, and character.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students

This week we continued in our series "Ask It". We talked about the difference between being Simple (lacking experience), Foolish (knowing, but not caring) and a Mocker (critical of those who do right). Pray that as our students identify with one of these three categories, God will be moving in them, revealing new things to them and showing them His wisdom. Pray our students continue to ask themselves "what is the wise thing to do?". Pray that in spite of their past experiences, current circumstances or future hopes and dream, they will continue to ask that question.

For Our Ministry
Pray that students and leaders would depend on prayer for their direction, life, and purpose, that apart from Him we can do nothing. Pray we would boldly come to the throne of grace to seek God to do more then we could possibly ask or imagine. Pray that we would trust God is good, hears us, and responds.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- As a senior there is so much stuff going on to prepare us for the future. I feel like there is no way to be fully prepared which is scary for me. I need prayer that I trust God’s plan for my future, that I live in the moment and follow God’s plan for me.
- God’s guidance, the gift of evangelism, a more servant attitude, protection from the evil one.
- End of senior year is coming and I have to make some difficult decisions about college and other things. Recently received some hard news and I am having a hard time processing it.
- Get through finals. Pass all of my classes. Influence my friends to attend Thrive.
- That I can love myself through the pain and negativity. Trusting certain people. Closer relationship to God. Pray that the people who are with me never leave me.

STUDENTS IN OUR MINISTRY:
This is a list of our seniors graduating high school this week and next. Take a couple minutes to pray over them, as they end their high school careers and their time with us in Thrive. Pray for their futures, that they will continue to love and serve the Lord no matter what comes.
