Welcome! You have been invited to follow this blog by either a student or leader of Salem First Baptist's Student Ministries. We are so glad you are here! It has been on our heart to have God move through our students in a big way, and we know that the main way to get that done is by having a body of believers praying for us constantly. Our goal with this blog is to keep you informed and up-to-date on prayer requests we have within our ministry, whether they be from an individual student or from the group as a whole. We want to thank you for your willingness to pray for us and the work God is already doing within the lives of our students.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students
We wrapped up our series on God's glory with a challenge; a call to action, that we would boldly worship Christ in all that we do. Pray that our students would see what that looks like. Pray that they know that they are able to point people to Christ with their lives, and that they would live out of that - that they were created to be worshippers.

We all get to be the soundtrack to the greatest story ever, the story of God’s glory. Our prayer is that our students  would be excited to be a megaphone to Jesus, bold and unashamed. That they would be seeking God’s tuning to be like Jesus.

For Our Ministry
Pray that the Gospel is proclaimed boldly, clearly, and often. Pray that the good news of God’s grace would be received and trusted. Pray for revival to come to Fusion and Thrive.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- My friends so that they can come to church and learn more about God.
- My faith to grow and to be a witness to people who don't know Christ.
- I ask for help in the last few days of school left and for me to be able to conquer my depression through Jesus and learn to manage stress.
- Please pray for my family, my grandma just passed away and we’re going through a tough time. Also please pray for honesty in my life and that I will talk to my friends in a true and honest way

STUDENTS IN OUR MINISTRY:
Please take a moment to pray for these students individually. Pray over their week, family life, friendships, and character.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students
This week we continued in our series on God's glory. We took a look at Philippians 2:5-11 and focused on "glory thievery" and what God thinks about it. Pray that our students would see that the cost of His mercy says more about Him then it does us.

Our prayer is students would stop working to please God, but trust humbly the grace of God. That they would trust also what He says about them because of His grace; that they would be released from shame and live in the freedom of God’s glorious grace.

For Our Ministry
Pray that our students and leaders would experience the joy of Christ as they worship Him in word and deed. Pray that with thanksgiving in our hearts we would reflect Jesus in all we say and do.

Pray also for our upcoming Thrive Girls & Guys retreats. Pray that God will start working in the hearts of those going.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
– For my words to be God’s. For me to have lots of good conversations.
– Pray that I will be able to find out who I really am. And that I will be able to make it through high school.
– Finish school strong with good grades and energy. Not to feel overwhelmed by the end of school activities.
– Guidance and honesty. Courage to bring more people to Christ. Strength to stay pure in my relationship with my girlfriend.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students
This week we took a look at the reality of hell and what it is. Instead of asking how could a good God create hell and send people there, we will ask how could He not?

Pray that our students see the horrors of hell are an echo of the infinite worth of the glory of God. Pray that they would begin to grasp the weight of eternity and long for God, delighting in His mercy.

For Our Ministry
Pray that the light of the church and the heart of the family would continually come together to reach and raise the next generation in Christ Jesus.

Pray also for our upcoming Thrive Girls & Guys retreats. Pray that God will start working in the hearts of those going.

Pray also for Fusion's Lock In. Pray for all the new friends that have been invited, that we might see those come to know the Lord as their personal Savior.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
-There is a lot of stress and pressure as we near the end of senior year. It’s really easy to get caught up and weighed down. Pray for peace and trust. My mom is working so much. For my sister.
-  Pray for strength and guidance – feeling lost on my path with God. Pray for strength with addiction. Needing to talk but afraid to.
- Healing from car accident. Grades. Band Competition. For my friends to know God. My family.
- My relationship with my mom.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students
This week we started a new series on God's glory. In high school, there is a big emphasis about making a name for yourself. This generation is saturated in social media, which projects believing that  being the center of our lives and even other’s lives is a good thing. The truth is God wants our students to wake up to the reality that their story is about Him and His glory. Pray that our students would trust Christ as the center of their lives; that they would take themselves out of the limelight and move out of the way for God's glory to show through them for the glory of His Kingdom.

For Our Ministry
Pray that our students and leaders would see God for who He is, see themselves the way God sees them, and love others the way God does.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS
- Pray my mom and cousin get along while she lives with us. Pray that my grades get better.
- Strength to read my Bible more often, for longer periods of time. Strength to bring God into every being of my life.
- Pray for this weekend as my school's show will be performing. Pray for a good turn out. Pray for health of each actor and helper.
- I just need to get my life together. I need to stay more positive when I face hard times. I want to grow a whole lot closer to God. I want to be kinder.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students
This week we focused again on Who Jesus is Not: A Finger Pointer - that life with Jesus means living with hope! Pray that our students would trust and lean on Christ as the source of every shred of strength, joy, healing and peace they experience. Pray that they would have a proper view of God and of sin.

Pray for any "masks" they might wear - that they would commit to being real with someone they trust with who they really are; the good and the bad.

Pray also for our upcoming Lock-Ins (for both Thrive and Fusion), that they would be well attended and that the Gospel would be heard and lives changed!

For Our Ministry
Pray that students and leaders would depend on prayer for their direction, life, and purpose, that apart from Him we can do nothing. Pray we would boldly come to the throne of grace to seek God to do more then we could possibly ask or imagine. Pray that we would trust God is good, hears us, and responds.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- Pray for my friends, that they will turn to God through the struggle of losing a husband and father.
- There is a lot of stress and pressure as we near the end of senior year. It’s really easy to get caught up and weighed down. Pray for peace and trust. My mom is working so much. For my sister.
- Even though high school is about to end I want God to use me in so many more ways.
- I would like you to pray for my mom as she was in a car accident and hurt her shoulder. Pray for healing for my mom and that we will be able to find a new car for her.
- Strength to read my Bible more often for longer periods of time. Strength to bring God into every aspect of my life.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students
We continued our series on Who Is Jesus Not? this week focusing on what our perceptions of Jesus are, the main point being that Jesus cares more about your heart than anything else. Our students were challenged to think about the difference between following the rules and following in Jesus' footsteps.

Pray that this is a reality for our students; that they will see that Jesus is life to the full. No matter how many rules they do or do not follow, Jesus only cares about their heart. Pray that we see lives changed through this series.

For Our Ministry
Pray that the Gospel is proclaimed boldly, clearly, and often. Pray that the good news of God’s grace would be received and trusted. Pray for revival to come to Fusion and Thrive.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- My struggle with depression.
- I would like it if you would pray that I will make it through the rest of my life without my mom and that she will be with God forever in Heaven.
- My relationship with my mom.
- Overcoming sins in my life. Grades in school to be good. Acceptance from my parents. Find my identity.
- That Jesus will be seen through my mom dying. That every day will be a reflection of His joy and His grace.
- Help me be able to tell others about God.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students
We wrapped up our series this week talking about the importance of using our time wisely. The truth is time is precious, but we don't always see it that way. For our students, it's easy for them to see a long life ahead of them - but what if that isn't the case? We challenged our students this week to make every day count, reminding them that this is the only life any of us will have.

Pray that our students see that their time is limited. Pray that they will use that time to make wise decisions and to bring glory to God's Kingdom. Pray students understand that time is a valuable commodity and to help them see the benefits of using their time wisely.

For Our Ministry
Pray we are prayer dependent. Pray that students and leaders would depend on prayer for their direction, life, and purpose, that apart from Him we can do nothing. Pray we would boldly come to the throne of grace to seek God to do more then we could possibly ask or imagine. Pray that we would trust God is good, hears us, and answers.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- For learning to say “no”. For me not to feel overwhelmed with school. To listen to God and follow His will without question. Wisdom.
- That my mother would have the courage to face my dad when the day comes for him to go to court.
- That I will have patience with my mom. Wisdom as I prepare to move out and go to college.
- For strength and guidance – feeling lost on my path with God. Pray for strength with addiction. Needing to talk but afraid to.
- My relationship with my mom.

Please take a moment to pray for these students individually. Pray over their week, family life, friendships, and character.
