Welcome! You have been invited to follow this blog by either a student or leader of Salem First Baptist's Student Ministries. We are so glad you are here! It has been on our heart to have God move through our students in a big way, and we know that the main way to get that done is by having a body of believers praying for us constantly. Our goal with this blog is to keep you informed and up-to-date on prayer requests we have within our ministry, whether they be from an individual student or from the group as a whole. We want to thank you for your willingness to pray for us and the work God is already doing within the lives of our students.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students

Pray that as our students prepare to go back to school that God would be with them. Pray that He would ease any fears or nervousness they might have. Pray for those students going to new schools, going into middle school or high school, or maybe just going to a new school, that they would be confident in their transition and that God would use them in this new place.

Pray that as we take the month of August "off" as a big group, that this will be a time for students and leaders to connect outside of our main night.

Pray as both the Thrive and Fusion teams start planning for the next school year, that God would bond them together as a team and help them set goals for the future.

For Our Ministry
Pray that our students and leaders would experience the joy of Christ as they worship Him in word and deed. Pray that with thanksgiving in our hearts we would reflect Jesus in all we say and do.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- To connect with old friends and bring them to Thrive. For God to mentally prepare me for high school.
- Pray for my dad as he just got his third job. I hope to grow in my faith. I want to have a better relationship with my dad.
- Pray that I will be able to be a Godly leader at football when others are not making good decisions.
- Temptation/Strength. Confidence in sharing the Gospel. Family resentment.

STUDENTS IN OUR MINISTRY:
Please take a moment to pray for these students individually. Pray over their week, family life, friendships, and character.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students

On Sunday, Pastor Brian taught on being able to recognize what has your focus in life. Pray that students would be able to shift their focus to their Heavenly Father; that the distractions of this world would fade away and they would be able to see the value of focusing on Jesus.

Pray that as we take the month of August "off" as a big group, that this will be a time for students and leaders to connect outside of our main night. Pray as both the Thrive and Fusion teams start planning for the next school year, that God would bond them together as a team and help them set goals for the future.

For Our Ministry
Pray for our Thrive and Fusion Bible studies that are happening the month of August. Pray that as students and leaders meet in homes and at church to delve deeper into God's word that they would grow closer together and expand their understanding of the Bible.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
– For my words to be God’s. For me to have lots of good conversations.
– Pray that I will be able to find out who I really am. And that I will be able to make it through high school.
- Pray that I would have a selfless attitude and that I would think of others before myself.
- Pray for strength and encouragement to be a man of God

STUDENTS IN OUR MINISTRY:
Please take a moment to pray for these students individually. Pray over their week, family life, friendships, and character.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students

This week we held our last mid-week nights for both Thrive and Fusion for the rest of the summer. This summer we have focused on what it looks like to have Biblical, God-honoring relationships with family, and friends. Pray that our students would have discernment and that they would always show the love of Christ. That they would seek out relationships that exemplify the Lord, and point others to Him.

Pray that as we take the month of August "off" as a big group, that this will be a time for students and leaders to connect outside of our main night. Pray as both the Thrive and Fusion teams start planning for the next school year, that God would bond them together as a team and help them set goals for the future.

For Our Ministry
Pray that student-leader relationships would grow as they do life together to mature in and for the glory of Christ.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- Pray for my dad as he just got his third job. I hope to grow in my faith. I want to have a better relationship with my dad.
- Being able to stay with my family without any problems. Being able to make/keep friends; not being an outcast.
- Pray that I will be able to be a Godly leader at football when others are not making good decisions.
- Not being so nervous about high school and trying to enjoy it.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students

No soldier wants to go into battle alone. No one likes to stand up and be the lone voice in a meeting. We want to know someone has our back or is standing with us. We carry out our responsibilities better when we encourage one another. We all need encouragers in our lives. In turn, we can strengthen our relationships when we offer the same support and encouragement to others. This week we focused on the relationship of Barnabas and Saul.
Pray that our students would have both Barnabas' and Sauls' in their life - people that encourage them, and people they can encourage. Pray that as our students encourage people around them, that they would also influence their peers in a way that honors Christ.

For Our Ministry
Pray for our team that we are sending to Camp Attitude. Pray that their lives would be changed, that God would open their eyes to a world in need through their children they will serve. Pray also for the leaders, that they would have strength and endurance to support their students.

Pray also as we have a Thrive event next Tuesday called "The Amazing Race". Pray that it would be an event that students will bring their friends too.

Pray also for Camp H2O - as we are preparing for it and as students are signing up - that students who God wants there will sign up.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- To connect with old friends and bring them to Thrive. For God to mentally prepare me for high school.
- Temptation/Strength. Confidence in sharing the Gospel. Family resentment.
- That I can serve God through ministries and other people like my friends.
- Pray that I can stay dedicated to my goals and not be discouraged.

- Pray that I will be able to be a Godly leader at football when others are not making good decisions.

STUDENTS IN OUR MINISTRY:
Please take a moment to pray for the students and leaders going to serve at Camp Attitude next week. Pray for strength for them to serve well all week. Pray that God would do a mighty work in all their hearts.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students

This week we started a new series called "Like Glue" - which focuses on how to have healthy, thriving, biblically relationships. Each week we are focusing on a different trait of relationship; this week we talked about love. We’ve probably all heard someone say, “I love him, but I don’t like him right now.” In that attitude, we treat love as some sort of concept we are required to embrace—especially with relatives—but there are no concrete, day-to-day expressions of love. Yet the starting point for any strong relationship is love—love that is expressed in both attitudes and actions. Jesus modeled this kind of love for us, and calls us to do the same. Let love overflow into every relationship. Pray that our students will see the intentional ways they can love those around them - that they will be known as people who love, and love well. Pray that they will love selflessly and sacrificially.

For Our Ministry
Pray that student-leader relationships would grow as they do life together to mature in and for the glory of Christ.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- Strength to talk to more people about God. Confidence that God will take care of me.
- That my mom gets a job
- That my autoimmune meds keep working so I can live life not tired all the time.
- I want to be closer to God and think I need help.

STUDENTS IN OUR MINISTRY:
Please take a moment to pray for these students individually. Pray over their week, family life, friendships, and character.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students

This week we focused on John 15:12-13 "My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends." Pray that students would see that abiding in Christ is the secret to continual growth. Pray that in Him they will produce fruit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Pray that they will know and see that apart from Christ they can do nothing.

For Our Ministry
Pray that our students wouldn’t just come to Church, but own it, using their gifts, talents and influence to serve the kingdom. Pray that students would be bringing others into a life changing relationship with God and each other.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- Help things at home get better. Pray for my mom, she is doing rehab and wants to get sober. Best friend is moving.
- Our financial problems to not get in the way of finding us a home
- That everyone will come to church with me one day
- I need help with depression and suicidal thoughts, controlling my rage, finding myself, feeling emotions better. I want to be closer to God and think I need help.

Please take a moment to pray for these students individually. Pray over their week, family life, friendships, and character.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students

This week we started a new series called "Beyond Me". The students were challenged to love - to love more than they have to give. Pray that they know that that is possible. That by remaining in Jesus, they will have everything they need to love abundantly. Pray that if any of them have things they need to give up to follow passionately after Jesus, that they would have the strength and courage to do so. Pray that they let Him determine their desires, and that they would love as He loves. Pray that John 15:5 is real to them, and that they really see that they can do nothing apart from Jesus.

For Our Ministry
Pray that the Gospel is proclaimed boldly, clearly, and often. Pray that the good news of God’s grace would be received and trusted. Pray for revival to come to Fusion and Thrive.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- I pray that some friends of my family would find God's peace and love after losing a loved one.
- Graduation, moving out, going to college
- That I'll be safe and not have recurring nightmares
- My friend is attempted suicide multiple times. Pray that she will not want to cut and get help.

Please take a moment to pray for these students individually. Pray over their week, family life, friendships, and character.
