Welcome! You have been invited to follow this blog by either a student or leader of Salem First Baptist's Student Ministries. We are so glad you are here! It has been on our heart to have God move through our students in a big way, and we know that the main way to get that done is by having a body of believers praying for us constantly. Our goal with this blog is to keep you informed and up-to-date on prayer requests we have within our ministry, whether they be from an individual student or from the group as a whole. We want to thank you for your willingness to pray for us and the work God is already doing within the lives of our students.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students
This week we started a new series called Choose Joy. We focused on two main points - 1. Joy is different than happiness and 2. Joy is found in Christ. Pray that our students would know the difference and run to Christ to bring them true joy. Pray that as the world is seen running towards happiness, that they will shower Christ's joy on those around them. Pray that that joy would be part of their character.

For Our Ministry
Pray that our students and leaders would see God for who He is, see themselves the way God sees them, and love others the way God does.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
-I could have an opportunity to share the Gospel with friends and peers.
-My sister still isn’t a follower of Christ and I think and pray about her every day.
-Pray for my relationship with God. I feel like I am having doubts and just don’t know how to feel right now. Pray for me to get out of my head. Pray for my mom.
-I have a hard time giving my dad the respect God tells me to give him. Also that I would be a better example to my siblings.

STUDENTS IN OUR MINISTRY:
Please take a moment to pray for these students individually. These are the names of our students who don't know the Lord. Pray for their salvations, that God would continually be pursuing each of them.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students
This week we talked about the history behind the Cross. We talked about the factual evidence that Jesus did come to die for the world. Pray for students, that amidst teachers and student they will spread the truth behind the Cross. Pray that as we wrestle with apologetics they will be as sponges - soaking up all the information they can! Pray they have knowledge that surpasses understanding and are able to communicate what they've learned to their friends!

For Our Ministry
Pray that the Gospel is proclaimed boldly, clearly, and often. Pray that the good news of God’s grace would be received and trusted. Pray for revival to come to Fusion and Thrive.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- That my dad will open his heart to God.
- Pray that I let God into my life and it is a joyous thing. That I can love myself. Leave the bad people in my life.
- I need to choose where I am going to college soon. I am stressing out a bunch. I need prayer that I trust God’s plan even when I don’t see it.

- Pray that I am able to get a job at the Boys & Girls Club.
- Pray that my friend Stephen will start coming to Thrive. Pray that Nixxon will come to know God.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students
This week the Gospel was clearly presented and we had one student respond to it and give his life to Christ! Pray that the other students who also heard this Good News would be wrestling with it. Pray that God makes Himself known to them, and continues to pursue them. Pray for those students, that they would respond to His calling; that their hearts would soften and that they would have the faith of a mustard seed - and that God would take that faith and grow it more than they could ever know.

For Our Ministry
Pray that our students and leaders would experience the joy of Christ as they worship Him in word and deed. Pray that with thanksgiving in our hearts we would reflect Jesus in all we say and do.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- My uncle is dying and I pray that he goes pain free and peacefully.
- My sister wants to grow and know Christ, me in my personal struggles and that I’m able to grow more.
- Pray for the healing in my family to continue and get better. Continue to grow with them. Need someone to keep me more accountable when it comes to reading my Bible. Need encouragement to spread the love of Jesus.
- Pray for me, I have depression and I hate feeling this way.
- My brother  to come out of atheism and into Jesus. Also, just pray that I find a youth group as amazing as this in Gresham when I move.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Student
This week we started a new series that is All About Jesus. For the next couple of weeks we are focusing on who Jesus is - how He is 100% God & man. Pray that our students will wrestle with who Jesus is. Pray that when they see who He is, it will cause them to react in reverence and awe. Pray those who have been coming to Thrive who don't know Jesus will see Him as their Savior.

For Our Ministry
Pray that students and leaders would depend on prayer for their direction, life, and purpose, that apart from Him we can do nothing. Pray we would boldly come to the throne of grace to seek God to do more then we could possibly ask or imagine. Pray that we would trust God is good, hears us, and responds.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- I pray that my brother and his girlfriend would come to know the Lord
- That my grandma would be ok - she had a fall then had surgery.
- I’ve been worried about my grades and I just got a reality check today and I am kind of freaking out. Pray to keep me motivated and on task and remind me God is near.
- I want God to touch my family and take away grudges and chaos between relatives. I want healing between my grandma and my parents.

STUDENTS IN OUR MINISTRY:
Please take a moment to pray for these students individually. Pray over their week, family life, friendships, and character.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Student
This week we wrapped up our series on God's Word - focusing on Jesus. Jesus is what the story is all about. Our challenge to our students was to choose to engage in the Word of God to experience the power of it! Pray that our students would Breathe, Eat, Plant and Wield the Word of God, for the Glory of God's Kingdom. Pray they would let it sustain them, fill them, take root in them, and that they would engage in it daily. Pray they see it unfold in their lives.

For Our Ministry
Pray that our students wouldn’t just come to Church, but own it, using their gifts, talents and influence to serve the kingdom. Pray that students would be bringing others into a life changing relationship with God and each other.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- For my family, mainly for my brother because I haven't been able to see him for many reasons. Also, for my grades and school work because of that on top of personal problems is creating late nights and mental breakdowns.-.
- I am bringing a girl to Thrive next week and I want that to go well, it might not go well because she is an atheist but she’s open.
- My sister is always on my mind because she doesn't know God.
- I need the strength to leave the past in the past and the ability to accept m y future as it comes my way knowing that God has a plan for me.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Student
This week both Thrive and Fusion had their annual Christmas parties and we had fun! Nights like these are meant to create laughter and memories, and we did just that! Pray that as we enter the Christmas season and with that, Christmas break, that students would be protected and safe. That those students that have rough family situations would be at peace and comforted during this time of year. That this time would be a time of family and togetherness. Pray that God would squelch any anger or animosity that might be floating through families.

For Our Ministry
Pray that the light of the church and the heart of the family would continually come together to reach and raise the next generation in Christ Jesus

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- Pray I am not angry all the time at the smallest things
- Pray for me as I decide who should be in my life and who shouldn't.
- Pray for my walk with God. I've felt very far away from Him lately.
- Pray that I can make some friends who are supportive. Pray that I remain strong in my faith.
- Pray for a good Christmas for my family and I.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Student
This week we continued to look at what God says about family. We talked about how the Bible calls us to obey our parents. Pray our students see the value of respecting their parents and their family; that by doing this they are also pleasing and obeying God. Pray that out of their obedience God would show them blessing. Pray for those students who have a tough time respecting their parents because of brokenness. Pray that God would give them strength, courage, and comfort.

For Our Ministry
Pray that our students and leaders would see God for who He is, see themselves the way God sees them, and love others the way God does.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- Stress and anxiety, find purpose in life, get a better group of friends; forgive those who have hurt me
- I am struggling with giving God a specific portion of my life and confessing a specific sin to Him. I need to give that part of my life up to Him and complete surrender.
- Pray for my family. School is a struggle and my relationship with God. Pray to avoid temptation.
- I would like  prayer to help my confidence and self-esteem.

STUDENTS IN OUR MINISTRY:
Please take a moment to pray for these students individually. Pray over their week, family life, friendships, and character.
