Welcome! You have been invited to follow this blog by either a student or leader of Salem First Baptist's Student Ministries. We are so glad you are here! It has been on our heart to have God move through our students in a big way, and we know that the main way to get that done is by having a body of believers praying for us constantly. Our goal with this blog is to keep you informed and up-to-date on prayer requests we have within our ministry, whether they be from an individual student or from the group as a whole. We want to thank you for your willingness to pray for us and the work God is already doing within the lives of our students.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students

This week we started a new series call "Squad" which focuses on friendship. We took a look into the lives and friendship of Jonathon and David. Pray that our students would be sensitive to God's leading in their lives regarding friendships. Pray that He will strengthen those friendships that need to be strengthened. Pray also for the new 6th graders and freshman who have just joined our groups, that they would feel at home and welcome in their new youth groups.

For Our Ministry

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students

This week we ended our series "Ask It" and we focused on making decisions. Our students were challenged to open their hands to God and choose Him for themselves, making their faith their own. Pray that as they wrestle with this decision, God would guide them. Pray that they seek out wisdom. Pray that as they continue to ask this question: In light of my past experience, current circumstances, and future hopes and dreams, what’s the wise thing for me to do? They will continue to surrender themselves to the Author of wisdom will determine what they will actually do.

For Our Ministry
Tomorrow Pastor Brian, Debbie Smith and a team of 7 students are headed to the Dominican Republic! Please pray for them as them - pray for safety, health, that all their luggage meets them there, that God will go before them and prepare the hearts of the kids who they will be reaching through VBS, and pray for unity for the team. Pray that their relationships with the Lord will grow and be challenged and that God will reveal Himself to them in mighty ways. They will be gone June 18th-28th!

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- Help with my words. Help with sin and attitude.
- Growing more in Christ. Things with my mom continue to go well. Relationships continue to have God first so it can work out well.
- I would like to pray for a better relationship with God and live my life for God.
- I feel like I know of Jesus, but I don’t know Him.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students

This last week we focused on "harmless distractions". Pray as our students go in to the summer, they will be making small investments in their walk with the Lord. Pray against distractions. Pray for them, that if there are things in their life they need to say no to, they would have the strength and courage to do so. Pray for health habits to be made and kept this summer, that as they have more free time, they would start making consistent "deposits" of time into things that matter.

For Our Ministry
Pray that student-leader relationships would grow as they do life together to mature in and for the glory of Christ.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- I pray that some friends of my family would find God's peace.
- Graduation, moving out, going to college

- Temptation. Confidence in sharing the Gospel.
- That I can use my summer to serve God.
- Pray that I can stay dedicated to my goals and not be discouraged.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students

This week we continued in our series "Ask It". We talked about the difference between being Simple (lacking experience), Foolish (knowing, but not caring) and a Mocker (critical of those who do right). Pray that as our students identify with one of these three categories, God will be moving in them, revealing new things to them and showing them His wisdom. Pray our students continue to ask themselves "what is the wise thing to do?". Pray that in spite of their past experiences, current circumstances or future hopes and dream, they will continue to ask that question.

For Our Ministry
Pray that students and leaders would depend on prayer for their direction, life, and purpose, that apart from Him we can do nothing. Pray we would boldly come to the throne of grace to seek God to do more then we could possibly ask or imagine. Pray that we would trust God is good, hears us, and responds.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- As a senior there is so much stuff going on to prepare us for the future. I feel like there is no way to be fully prepared which is scary for me. I need prayer that I trust God’s plan for my future, that I live in the moment and follow God’s plan for me.
- God’s guidance, the gift of evangelism, a more servant attitude, protection from the evil one.
- End of senior year is coming and I have to make some difficult decisions about college and other things. Recently received some hard news and I am having a hard time processing it.
- Get through finals. Pass all of my classes. Influence my friends to attend Thrive.
- That I can love myself through the pain and negativity. Trusting certain people. Closer relationship to God. Pray that the people who are with me never leave me.

STUDENTS IN OUR MINISTRY:
This is a list of our seniors graduating high school this week and next. Take a couple minutes to pray over them, as they end their high school careers and their time with us in Thrive. Pray for their futures, that they will continue to love and serve the Lord no matter what comes.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students

This week we started a new series called "Ask It" - this week we focused on what it looks like to make wise decisions. Pray as our students ask themselves "What's the wise thing to do?" that God would give them clear wisdom. Pray especially for our graduating seniors, as they make decisions about their future, that they would first consult God and His Word about their life choices. Pray that the people they seek wisdom from will direct them towards Jesus.

For Our Ministry
Pray that our students wouldn’t just come to Church, but own it, using their gifts, talents and influence to serve the kingdom. Pray that students would be bringing others into a life changing relationship with God and each other.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- For my dad’s heart to be opened to the goodness of Christ.
- Being able to share the Gospel with Alyssa.
- That I would be able to reach out and do what God wants me to do.
- Pray that I can continue to accept Christ into my life. He feels so close but I know my doubts and lack of trust are keeping me from Him. Pray that I may trust Him and cast away my doubts. Also that I can lead others to God.
- That I can love myself through the pain and negativity. Trusting certain people. Closer relationship to God. Pray that the people who are with me never leave me.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students

We've all seen athletes point to heaven after touchdowns or home runs. And we've heard actors thank God during their acceptance speeches. How come other people seem to have so much success while we pray and seem to never get what we want? How do we keep going when God seems to be saying, "No"? Pray that our students would see the value of prayer, even if they don't always get the results they are asking for. Pray they see and know that a "no" from God doesn't mean He doesn't love them, but that He ultimately knows what is good for them.

For Our Ministry
This weekend Thrive is taking 14 girls to the coast for a girls retreat! Please pray for safety as they travel. Pray also for the bonds and connections that will be made over the weekend. Pray God would already be stirring in the hearts of those girls who don't yet know Him. Pray for Salvation! Pray also that this will just be a great time of learning, that the girls would fall more in love with their Savior and His Word.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
Help with my words. Help with sin and attitude.
Growing more in Christ.
I would like to pray for a better relationship with God and live my life for God
- As graduation is drawing near things are piling up and I am getting really busy. It’s becoming difficult to find time for myself and for God.
I still have doubts about trusting God. I feel like I would be disappointing God if I get in a relationship with Him and mess up. I need help overcoming my doubts and learning to trust Him and walk the path He has for me. I want to light the light He has inside me

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students

This week we started a new series called "When God". This week we focused on prayer and how our prayer life reflects our relationship with God. Pray that as students wrestle with prayer, that they would see and feeling God answering them. Pray they know that the Creator of the Universe cares about their requests and problems and wants them to bring them to Him. Pray they would trust God in difficult times.

For Our Ministry
Pray that our students and leaders would experience the joy of Christ as they worship Him in word and deed. Pray that with thanksgiving in our hearts we would reflect Jesus in all we say and do. Last weekend at the Fusion retreat we had 2 young ladies come to know Christ as their personal Savior! Please pray for Janely and Josie as they start their journey with Christ,

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- That my family has a happy and successful move.
- That my relationship with God will grow and be strengthened.
- Dealing and grasping a hold on stopping internal/external conflicts/sins in having a tough time getting control of.
- Joy! Energy! Patience! My grades are struggling because of lack of time.
- I would love to pray for my friends Ruth and Jennifer to come to know Christ. Help me have the strength to finish this year strong. Help my family get closer together and come to know God better.

STUDENTS IN OUR MINISTRY:
