Welcome! You have been invited to follow this blog by either a student or leader of Salem First Baptist's Student Ministries. We are so glad you are here! It has been on our heart to have God move through our students in a big way, and we know that the main way to get that done is by having a body of believers praying for us constantly. Our goal with this blog is to keep you informed and up-to-date on prayer requests we have within our ministry, whether they be from an individual student or from the group as a whole. We want to thank you for your willingness to pray for us and the work God is already doing within the lives of our students.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students

This week we ended our series "Tough as Nails" -  Pray that as students see how fearless Jesus was that they would be challenged and find courage to act fearless as well; in their families, in their schools, and in their communities. Pray that when God lays something on their heart, they would act boldly. Pray they see that Jesus isn’t finished changing the world. That He is calling on each one of them to follow him.

For Our Ministry
Pray that the Gospel is proclaimed boldly, clearly, and often. Pray that the good news of God’s grace would be received and trusted. Pray for revival to come to Fusion and Thrive.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- For school to go well. For sports to go well. To help me put Jesus first.
- To make new friends at my new school and get good grades.
- Excellence in school work. Closer relationship with God.
- My family and myself have been through a lot of emotional hurt for years but it’s really been staring to hit me now. I would ask for prayer against my own bitterness and judgement and also for healing.
- Help with stress and time management with my job and school.
- My mom got custody and temporary visitation rights. Pray that my mom gets full visitation, not just temporary.

STUDENTS IN OUR MINISTRY:
Please take a moment to pray for these students individually. Pray over their week, family life, friendships, and character.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students

This week we talked about Faith. Pray that as our students live out their faith in their schools, that they would be a light to those around them. Pray that even if their life might seem uncertain, they would remain faithful. Pray they would be able to fix their eyes on Jesus instead of trying to take their situations under their own control. Pray that as they strive to do this, God would bless them and teach them.

For Our Ministry
Pray that student-leader relationships would grow as they do life together to mature in and for the glory of Christ.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- That my dad would submit to Christ and that I’d be kind of my family, my little brother especially.
- Thanks for a good first couple of weeks of school. Pray to keep God before everything and everyone else.
- Pray for healing. I was diagnosed with a never condition called Reflex Neurovascular Dystrophy about a year ago, but I have been dealing with it for close to 4 years. Pray for understanding as I have family members that do not believe I am sick and they think it’s in my head.
- Pray that the chains stay broken and for my mom and brother. Also for my friends Marni, Miranda, Molly and Alisha on the prayer wall.
- Wisdom in decisions about college, use of time. Courage to be a leader.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students

This week was our official kick off for Thrive and Fusion! We had a great turn out and a lot of new faces! Pray for those new students, that they would have a desire to come back and learn more! We started a new series called "Tough as Nails" and this week focused on fear. Pray that our students know that living in fear is optional. Pray that they see that Jesus was born into, lived through, and walked into the jaws of uncertainty for them personally! Pray as they wade through a culture with so much fear and anxiety that Jesus would cut through so clearly for them.

For Our Ministry
Pray that our students and leaders would experience the joy of Christ as they worship Him in word and deed. Pray that with thanksgiving in our hearts we would reflect Jesus in all we say and do.

PRAYER REQUESTS FROM OUR STUDENTS:
- I pray that my parents won’t argue as much.
- Please pray that my parents will put their faith in Christ
- New school is tough. Stress that is coming. Mormon friends. Meeting new friends.
- Pray for my brother and his wife to have a healthy first baby and for senior year to go well so I can handle the stress better.
- Pray that I am guided into my senior year by God’s wisdom. This is a year of decision making and I pray that my decisions will be guided with the Spirit. Overall, just pray for a fun and successful last year of high school!
- I’ve been struggling with worry and anxiety. Also it would be great if you prayed for my friends Jessica and Becka because they are choosing not to follow God.

PRAYERS OF THE WEEK:
For Our Students

We had our first week back at Thrive and Fusion this week! We had our student leadership teams (Thrive's the "Bringers" & Fusion's "Core Crew) come and we were able to get them excited for this school year! In Thrive we placed names on our Gospel Wall - a wall that has the names of students' friends that they would like to see come to Thrive and come to  know the Lord. Right now there are 43 names on the wall! Please pray for our students as we send them out into their schools to be a light for Jesus.

Please pray for next Tuesday and Wednesday - we have our official kick offs and are praying for each student that will walk through these doors. Pray that each student will feel welcome and known in our groups; that they will see God's love so evidently in our students and leaders.

Pray to for our students as they started school this week! Pray for this transition - especially those who started 6th and 9th grade!

For Our Ministry
Pray that the light of the church and the heart of the family would continually come together to reach and raise the next generation in Christ Jesus.
